The John Muir Award is focused on the adventurous discovery and exploration of wild places. Awe and wonder moments abound. Young people are encouraged to explore and connect to the environment in their own way; a natural world from which we often seem to be becoming increasingly removed. Pupils are allowed time to create their own individual bond with the planet, and give something back through the completion of practical conservation tasks.
The John Muir diary forms a unique record of each child’s journey and exploration. Children should leave Ardroy with action points for the planet, very much focused on the concept of sustainable living.
