Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre is a multi-activity residential facility situated in Lochgoilhead, Scotland. The centre has been in operation since 1969, and can accommodate up to 70 people. We run school, youth and adult courses, also open courses, available to anyone.

Most attendees are children from Fife Council schools, but we also work with other local authorities including Argyll & Bute, Glasgow, North Lanark, Perth & Kinross, South Lanark and West Dumbarton. Youth groups, colleges, charities, and businesses use our services too.  Our activities can be used to achieve a range of learning outcomes, in particular those set out in the Curriculum for Excellence.

We have an instructor training scheme which is second to none. Trainees spend a year with us, gaining hands-on experience of group work, and work towards outdoor qualifications.  Our scheme is widely recognized as an excellent apprenticeship for outdoor work.  Our next intake will not be until March 2010.

We pride ourselves on our green credentials.  We are an eco-centre, have gained the Green Tourism award, and actively promote healthy living and eating.  John Muir Award courses are also very important to us.

Please see the about us menu for more information about our ethos, safety and quality standards, staffing, and how to find us.
