Summer Outdoor ActivitiesNear the start of The Splosh

There will be a full programme of the very popular Summer Outdoor Activities again in 2010.  We look forward to meeting new visitors, as well as welcoming back some of our many regulars!

Activities include:-

  • Kayaking
  • Canoeing
  • Gorge Walking - ('The Splosh')
  • Archery and Cave Simulator ('The Labyrinth')
  • Abseiling
  • Indoor climbing

Safety is always paramount.  Each activity is run with expert guidance from one of our instructors.

All activities are half-day sessions, either 9:30 to 12:30, or 13:30 to 16:30.  The cost per session for 2010 will be £17.50 for children (16 years and under), £22.50 for adults.  However, if you book and pay by 31st May 2010, you need only pay the 2009 rate - £15 for children and £20 for adults.

We will provide all safety equipment - mainly helmets, harnesses and buoyancy aids.  We will also provide wetsuits for kayaking and gorge walking, although by all means bring your own if you have one.  You should bring a change of clothes and a towel for all wet activities, as well as as a swimming costume to wear under the wetsuit, and old shoes (e.g. trainers) that you don't mind getting wet, although we also have a large stock of soggy old trainers for you to borrow!  For all activities, a few extra layers of warm clothing can often be a good idea, even in Summer, and remember to bring any food, drink or medication that you may need while you are with us.

Please note that if unaccompanied children are taking part in morning and afternoon activities on the same day, we unfortunately cannot supervise them over lunchtime - our instructors need a break too!
